Purpose of Event
70 years ago, the Korean War had finally ended. Today, the Republic of Korea has progressed in worldwide leadership and influence. Many have forgotten the war.
However, the country must remember – the sacrificial fight for peace that made the Republic of Korea what it is today.
The 70th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice, 70th anniversary of the U.S.-South Korea Alliance, 60th anniversary of Canada-ROK diplomatic relations – as we remember the footsteps taken together, we will revisit and celebrate our UN war veterans.
Invitees / Attendees
As this year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice & the U.S.-South Korea Alliance, we are pleased to present to you two concert events that will take place at Koerner Hall and Carnegie Hall. Despite still being a divided country, marked with fear and insecurity across the Korean Peninsula, we hope to promote true peace for this country and the whole world through these concerts. We would be deeply honored to have you attend this meaningful event.
We are passionate about commemorating all the Korean War Heroes who sacrificed their precious lives for the freedom of Korea. The U.S.-South Korea Alliance, established on October 1, 1953, with the signing of the mutual defense treaty, has successfully lived up to its primary goal of protecting the South from another northern invasion.
Over the past seven decades, South Korea’s defense ties have grown stronger and wider in partnerships that encompass several fields beyond security, in spite of North Korea’s continued provocations, which have increasingly become a growing threat to global security.
